Faith is like the confirmation slip in our hearts that the goods are on the way........

Faith is like the confirmation slip in our hearts that the goods are on the way........

'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord. 'Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future.'" Jeremiah 29:11

This is a solid promise from God. When we look at our lives, sometimes things look like so much chaos, especially when our lives feel blank and everything seems to be going wrong. But knowing that God has a plan for you gives you hope. God is busy working things out, even when you think He has left you and even when you think you have left Him.

Throughout my life, I have faced many trials and tribulations. And it seems like when you solve one problem another one comes your way. My problems may not be as scary and upsetting as others but they have brought me plenty of heart aches, tears, and sleepless nights. Even to this day, I still have my hard times. This past month, has been the most difficult time of the year for me, in preparing myself and my broken heart for my husbands departure to Iraq…all the meanwhile remembering that freedom is not free…. I have cried many tears and just about everyday has been stressful for me but I continue to smile even through struggle and tears. Because deep in my heart I know that everything will work out for the best and that God will make a way, for peace and safety in my heart as well as my husbands, just as he has done before. Things may not always work out the way I want them to work out, but I know God has special plans for me and my husband.  I am thankful that God has blessed me with such amazing friends, family, and especially a loving husband to help me face any situation.

So I want you to know that in the midst of all trials and tribulations, God is with us. He will even put special ones in our lives to help us get through hard times. We will face struggle’s because God wants us to use our faith, because Faith accepts what God does. We have to take our hands off our life and let God be in control and show us the way, because if its Gods will it will be done. Faith is day by day and there is a fight of faith, but God is the one who gives us strength within to overcome. "In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world John 16:33. We are all destined for victory. God has His hands on our life and He knows His thoughts for us. So, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths Proverbs 3:6.

"And Jesus answered saying to them, "Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be taken up and cast into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart, but believe that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.

Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you."

Mark 11:22-24

"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation."

1 Peter 4:12-13

"Yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform."

Romans 4:20-21

"Freedom is not free,  May God bless my husband as he embarks on a dangerous journey- may he lift him and keep him all the days he is in harms way, in between or after. May God continue to bless all those fighting overseas... so that we may taste freedom."

MILITARY SPOUSES....

When we consider the price the military pay for freedom, we need to remember the spouses. They pay a price, too. The funny thing about it is that most military spouses don't consider themselves different from other husbands and wives. Is there a difference? I think there is.

Other spouses get married and look forward to building equity in a home and putting down family roots. Military spouses get married and know they'll live in base housing or rent their homes. They must carry their roots with them, transplanting them frequently.

Other spouses decorate a home with flair and personality that can last a lifetime. When military spouses decorate their homes, their flair is tempered with the knowledge that no two base houses have the same size windows or same size rooms. Curtains have to be flexible and multiple sets are a plus. Furniture must fit like puzzle pieces.

Other spouses have living rooms that are immaculate and seldom used. Military spouses have immaculate livingroom/dining-room combos. The coffee table got a scratch or two moving from many moves, but it still looks pretty good.

Other spouses say good-bye to their spouse for a business trip and know they won't see them for a week. They are lonely, but can survive. Military spouses say good-bye to their deployed spouse and know they won't see them for months; or for a remote, a year. they are lonely, but will survive.

Other spouses call Maytag when a washer hose blows off and then write a check for the repairman. Military spouses cut the water off and fix it themselves.

Other spouses are used to saying "Hello" to a friend they see all the time. Military spouses get used to saying "Good-bye" to friends made over the last two years.

Other spouses worry about whether their child will be class president at school next year. Military spouses worry about whether their child will be accepted in yet another new school next year, and whether that school will be the worst in the city ... again.

Other spouses can count on spouses participation in special events: Birthdays, Anniversaries, Concerts, Football games, Graduations and especially the Birth of a child. Military spouses only count on each other, because they realize that the flag has to come first if freedom is to survive. It has to be that way.

Other spouses put up yellow ribbons when the troops are imperiled across the globe and take them down when the troops come home. Military spouses wear yellow ribbons around their hearts--and they never take them off.

Other spouses worry about being late for Mom's Thanksgiving dinner. Military spouses worry about getting back from Japan in time for Dad's funeral.

Other spouses are touched by the television programs showing an elderly lady putting a card down in front of a long, black wall that has names on it. The card simply says, "Happy birthday, sweetheart. You would have been sixty today." A military spouse is the lady with the card. And the wall is the Vietnam Memorial.

I would never say military spouses are better or worse then other spouses. But I will say there is a difference. And I will say that our country asks more of military spouses then is asked of other spouses as well as a price for freedom as do their active-duty husbands or wives. Perhaps the price they pay is even higher. they do what they have to do, bound together not only by blood or friendship, but with a shared spirit whose origin is in our very essence of what love truly is. Dying in service to our country is not nearly as hard as loving someone who has died in service to our country, and having to live without them.
God bless our military spouses for all they freely give. And God bless America.
